Film-free surface

Industrial copper tubes with the quality feature “cuproclean®”:

Soft, smooth copper tubes in coiled form for industrial applications with optimum inner cleanliness to avoid the onset of corrosion due to the oxygen in water.

To avoid pitting corrosion in fresh water containing oxygen, a carbon-free tube surface is required according to the quality of the water. Testing for any carbon deposits following annealing of the copper tubes is carried out using a process, which is stipulated as a carbon film test in EN DIN 1057.

Here there must be proof that there is no carbon film on the interior of the tube.

For soft, coiled, seamless copper industrial tubes, Wieland has developed a special process to guarantee a carbon-free interior surface.

Design and technical characteristics

  • copper tube “cuproclean®“
  • as a copper industrial tube according to DIN EN 12449 or Wieland factory standard R–1000
  • material, copper Cu-DHP, according to DIN EN 12449
  • special manufacturing and cleaning process: As a result of this “carbon film-free surface“ tubes are considerably better than stipulated in the standards and applicable regulations for industrial tubes
  • testing of the interior surface for cleanliness according to DIN EN 1057
  • fire performance of cupper tube according to DIN 4102–A1 (not combustible)

Areas of application

  • as water-carrying tubes in equipment and heat exchanger production
  • field of application according to temperature: up to 250°C operating temperature

Supplied as

  • industrial copper tubes with quality feature “cuproclean®”: soft annealed, in coils available from 100, 150 and 300 kg
  • range of dimensions: 6 mm to 28 mm in various thickness of wall
  • delivery and packaging according to Wieland specifications or customer requirements
  • supplied with inspection certificate according to DIN EN 10204:2004

Copper industrial tubes with the quality feature “carbon film-free surface” offer all the advantages of copper tubes (e.g. easy to process, safe connection technology, high mechanical resistance, gas/diffusion-tightness, consistent mechanical properties in operation, 100% recyclable) and furthermore also increased security against pitting corrosion when used with liquid media.
