Reclaiming Resources
As with all copper materials, ECOBRASS is processed within a full-cycle materials reclamation system:
Wieland buys the ECOBRASS chips, which must be kept separate because of their silicon content, and re-uses them as ECOBRASS raw material. Compared to steel, ECOBRASS offers not only the benefit of heightened productivity but, in addition, significant cost-cutting potential in the term of revenues from ECOBRASS chips.
Returned swarf is credited on the conversion account at a conversion ratio of 120:100. For ECOBRASS swarf/scrap collection by Wieland is free of charge from 5,000 kg.
In case of a delivery of ECOBRASS semi-finished products (tube, rod, wire, section) you will receive an extra ECOBRASS container. Please store the Wieland ECOBRASS swarf in this container and return it to Wieland-Werke AG. For the returned clean and unmixed ECOBRASS swarf you will receive a credit note for the ECOBRASS swarf value.
Please note:
If ECOBRASS is mixed with other swarf, the mixed swarf has to be refined.
