cuprofin® tubes are plain on the outside and finned on the inside. They are used in heat exchangers containing tubes in which refrigerant is evaporated or condensed.
Inner-grooved tubes have to meet various requirements. An important requirement is to have a heat transfer coefficient as high as possible on the inside of the tube and low pressure drop. Due to constant development and complex testing in our own laboratory internal structures with an excellent performance capability can be demonstrated. At the same time, we continuously work on reducing the weight per meter.
Manufacturing processes for inner-grooved tubes
- cuprofin® tubes (PDF, 0.8 MB) - seamless drawn and finned by using a mandrel
Inner-grooved tubes are usually supplied in form of soft-annealed, level-wound coils. In this condition they can undergo further processing to get straight lengths or hairpins without problems. Ready-to-install fixed lengths can also be supplied.
