Disk brakes have been used for commercial vehicles as well as cars for many years, and the market share is set to increase in the future. The safety factor when reducing speed is high, as is the functional reliability of every single part. Wieland S31 wrapped bushings are an essential part in the working process of the brake, in which they operate as fixed bearings. They absorb a huge proportion of the brake force and simultaneously guide the caliper.
The bushings are designed in such a way that they only have to be greased during assembly. Even bushings that are exposed to all weather conditions do not have to be re-greased – they are maintenance-free which is an important advantage for the user. Bushings have to be changed only if the brake is subject to part of a general maintenance process, e.g. after more than 1 million kilometres of driving.
