Enhanced surface evaporator tubes – for optimized boiling performance
The functional enhancements of the outer surfaces of GEWA-B, GEWA-PB and TURBO-B/E tubes have been optimized for bulk boiling of refrigerants and similar fluids. Coupled with ideally matched surfaces on the inside of the tubes, optimum heat transfer coefficients can be achieved.
GEWA and TURBO evaporator tubes are available with outer and inner surfaces adapted to the specific needs of the application. Depending on the requirement, the portfolio includes solutions for highest performance and efficiency, weight-optimized drop-in applications, media with high viscosities, high fouling applications and enhanced boiling applications in the process industry.
Key benefits
- Optimized heat transfer coefficients
- Increased heat transfer on shell and tube side
- Superior overall heat transfer performance
- More compact heat exchanger designs
- Reduced refrigerant charge
- Improved life cycle energy efficiency
- CAPEX and OPEX savings potential
- Minimizing CO₂ emissions during operation
Product variants
GEWA-B tubes are enhanced nucleate boiling tubes for shell-and-tube heat exchangers. They are optimized for flooded and falling-film evaporators in packaged chillers, both for the air-conditioning and refrigeration industry.
Applications
- Flooded evaporators in packaged chillers
- Falling-film evaporators in packaged chillers
- Air-conditioning industry
- Refrigeration industry
Product types
- B5 & B6 – for highest performance and efficiency
- B4HSL – weight optimized, drop-in applications
