WICU – Coated and Pre-insulated Copper Plumbing Tubes

WICU copper plumbing tubes combine a Cu-DHP copper core to EN 1057 with factory-applied protective or insulating coatings – for corrosion protection, thermal insulation, and faster installation. Three variants cover the full range: WICU Tube for universal protected installation, WICU Flex for rapid flexible installation in coils, and WICU Eco for thermally insulated heating and domestic hot water systems. All variants carry the RAL quality mark and DVGW certification.

Why coated copper tubes reduce installation risk and time

Bare copper tube exposed to aggressive soils, concrete, or installation environments is vulnerable to external corrosion – independent of the quality of the copper itself. A factory-applied coating applied under controlled conditions is more uniform and more durable than site-applied protection.

For the installer, this means the tube arrives protected and stays protected through the full installation sequence. For heating and hot water systems, factory PUR insulation applied to exact EnEV/GEG thickness specifications eliminates a separate insulation step on site – reducing installation time and the risk of non-compliant insulation gaps at connections.

WICU tubes a have a mill-applied protective coating. They are therefore suitable for concealed installation under plaster or in environments with an aggressive atmosphere, and for installation outdoors, either above or below ground.

WICU Flex – Flexible pre-insulated copper tube for rapid installation

WICU Flex is a plumbing tube with a flexible coating for rapid installation. The coating consists of closed-cell PE foam covered by a structured protective film. WICU Flex is supplied in coils for rapid connection to manifolds etc. and for underfloor installations.
