What Sets Us Apart
Copper and copper alloys form the foundation of our materials expertise. In addition, we possess in-depth expertise in other metals, which we apply specifically where our customers’ requirements go beyond pure copper materials. The combination of materials science, manufacturing technology and engineering enables us to produce materials and products with precisely the properties our customers require, be it maximum electrical conductivity, efficient heat transfer, high corrosion resistance or excellent machinability.
Semi-finished products made from copper and copper alloys form the foundation of our business: we are among the world’s leading suppliers in this field. Building on this, we have systematically expanded our value creation and are increasingly developing standalone components and system solutions for demanding industrial applications. This evolution from a traditional materials supplier to a provider of integrated solutions and systems is evident today across several of our business divisions.
With our global network of production sites, foundries and service centres, we are close to our customers and markets. High material availability, an extensive portfolio of materials available at short notice and local contacts enable short lead times, flexible solutions and efficient processing throughout global value chains.
Certifications such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and AS9100/AS9120, as well as our in-house testing laboratories, ensure high and traceable quality standards at our sites. Ongoing investment in modern technologies, high-performance production facilities and the targeted development of our staff complement this foundation and lay the groundwork for consistently high product quality and reliable delivery performance worldwide.
Sustainability is an integral part of our business model. With a recycled content of 82 per cent, our own recycling centres and a consistent circular economy strategy, we continuously return valuable raw materials to the production process. Our commitment has been recognised externally: with a B rating from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the EcoVadis Silver medal (top 15 per cent of companies assessed worldwide) and validation by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) of our net-zero emissions target by 2045 as compliant with the 1.5-degree pathway of the Paris Agreement.

The Wieland Group was founded in 1820 by Philipp Jakob Wieland in Ulm and can look back on a corporate history spanning more than 200 years. From its beginnings as an art and bell foundry, Wieland has developed into an internationally active metals company with sites on three continents.

Recycling is a central component of the Wieland Group’s business model. Copper can be recycled almost indefinitely without any significant loss of quality.
