Engineered Heat Rejection for HVAC-R, Data Centers and Industry

Free cooling, process heat rejection and energy recovery all depend on how efficiently heat is transferred to ambient air. Undersized or inefficient dry coolers increase energy consumption, raise operating costs and limit system capacity during peak ambient temperatures.

Wieland Dry Coolers are engineered to minimize energy consumption, reduce environmental impact and deliver consistent performance throughout the unit’s entire service life, with material and configuration choices matched to the specific application.

Adiabatic Cooling – Smarter Cooling, Lower Consumption, Higher Performance

In hot ambient conditions, standard dry coolers lose cooling capacity exactly when demand is highest. Wieland’s adiabatic system pre-cools incoming air through water evaporation before it reaches the heat exchanger, using pad, spray or high-pressure atomization systems. This significantly increases cooling capacity and efficiency during peak temperatures while minimizing water and energy consumption. Intelligent control activates the adiabatic system only when ambient conditions require it.

Adiabatic System: How it Works

Adiabatic Air Pre-Cooling: Before reaching the heat exchanger, ambient air is pre-cooled by water evaporation through either spray nozzles or an adiabatic media PAD, reducing the inlet air temperature.

Efficient Heat Exchange: The pre-cooled air flows across the heat exchanger coil, absorbing heat from the process fluid and enhancing heat rejection efficiency.

Process Fluid Cooling: The dry cooler removes heat from the process fluid, reducing its temperature before it is returned to the process or chiller system.
