Bronze Strips and Foils

Wieland bronze strips combine good strength, reliable formability and resistance to thermal relaxation for demanding stamped and formed components. Available in different phosphor bronze alloys, dimensions and tempers, they are particularly suited for spring contacts, press-fit connectors and signal-transmission components in the automotive, electrical and electronics industries.

Choosing the Right Bronze Grade

Phosphor bronzes are copper-tin alloys prized for their balance of strength, formability, and moderate thermal-relaxation resistance (up to approx. 100°C service temperature). Wieland’s SUPRALLOY® fine-grain versions of B14 (CuSn4), B16 (CuSn6), and B18 (CuSn8) share the same UNS numbers as the standard bronzes but have a finegrain  microstructure, giving it a higher strength at comparable formability, plus significantly higher fatigue and vibration resistance.
