High Performance Heat Transfer for Hydrocarbon Processes
GEWA-PB combines a nucleate boiling structure on the shell side with a spiral fin structure on the tube side. Both surfaces are designed to enhance heat transfer and provide high thermal performance in demanding hydrocarbon refrigeration and process applications.
The optimized tube geometry supports efficient boiling, gas and liquid cooling, and condensation while enabling compact heat exchanger designs.
- Best efficiency in class through optimized heat transfer coefficients and minimizing CO2 emissions during operations
- Highest compactness of heat exchanger design
- Maximal savings in CAPEX and OPEX

Engineering Services
We support you beyond the tube itself with engineering services for enhanced shell-and-tube heat exchanger solutions.
Our expertise includes thermal design, best practice design guidance, project management, and technical documentation. This enables GEWA-PB solutions to be adapted to the specific thermal and operational requirements of each application.
Quality and Testing
GEWA-PB tubes are manufactured and tested according to established industry standards. Eddy current testing is performed on finned tubes, with additional pressure testing available according to applicable ASME requirements.
Certificates according to DIN EN 10204 are available depending on project requirements.
Typical Applications
The GEWA-PB tube is a dual enhanced tube with a nucleate boiling structure on the shell side and a spiral fin structure on the tube side, which has been specially developed for shell-and-tube heat exchangers for the process industry:
- LNG C3 chillers
- Ethylene reboilers and condensers for C2 and C3 fractionation and splitting units
- C3 refrigeration systems
