Copper-Nickel Strips and Foils

This specialty of copper-nickel tin alloys is the very high strength in combination with a very good relaxation resistance, also combined with good formability. Typical alloys are Wieland-L49 (CuNi9Sn2, C72500) and Wieland-L96 (CuNi9Sn6, similar to C72700). Wieland-L96 is an environmental friendly alterative to Copper Berryllium and can be supplied in the milled hardened condition or quenchend and rolled allowing complex forming and hardening after stamping. L96 is as well used as an alternative to Copper Titanium alloys.

Choosing the Right Copper-Nickel Grade

Copper-nickel-tin alloys L49 and L96 stand out for very high strength combined with very good relaxation resistance and good formability – a combination that lets L96 replace traditional beryllium coppers (CuBe1.7, CuBe2) and CuTi3 . Typical applications are grounding springs, backplane connectors, and springs in switches & relays.
