Wieland receives further sustainability rating with award by EcoVadis

 

• Internationally recognized ESG rating assesses Wieland's sustainability achievement
• Wieland among the top 25 percent of the companies evaluated
• Rating covers 21 criteria in four subject areas

 

The company received 62 out of 100 points and thus landed in the top 25 percent of the companies evaluated – another positive result in the consistent implementation of the sustainability strategy and an improvement compared to the bronze medal from the previous year.

For Dr. Erwin Mayr, CEO of the Wieland Group, the priority lies clearly with the continuous improvement of Wieland's actual sustainability performance. "Positive rating results from EcoVadis or most recently from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) show us, on the one hand, that we are on the right track. But they also serve to identify potential areas for action as part of our sustainability strategy."

While the CDP rating focuses in particular on climate issues, EcoVadis covers the four topics of environment, labor & human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. Wieland performed above average in the labor & human rights and ethics categories. "A sustainability strategy is only successful when you work as a team. Rating results such as those from EcoVadis acknowledge the ambitious goals that we at Wieland are achieving together.

EcoVadis

EcoVadis has been evaluating the performance of companies in the categories of sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) since 2007. The EcoVadis methodology is based on international sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the United Nations Global Compact and ISO 26000. Due to the broad spectrum of analysis, the rating is a preferred tool by customers to evaluate the sustainability performance of companies in the context of supplier qualification. Furthermore, the ranking plays a major role among investors and analysts in addition to indices when evaluating companies. Currently, the EcoVadis network counts more than 85,000 rated companies in 160 countries.
