Digital Infrastructure Growth Drives $15 Million Wieland Expansion in Delaware
- German-owned manufacturer will add second production site and create 100 jobs
- $15 million investment expands production of heat exchangers for fast-growing data center cooling market
- Expansion strengthens Ohio’s role in the digital infrastructure and advanced manufacturing supply chain
Columbus, OH – The systems that keep data centers cool will soon be manufactured at greater scale in Delaware, Ohio. The Wieland Group will invest $15 million in a second production facility in the area and create 100 jobs as demand for high-performance cooling equipment continues to rise.
The company will establish operations in a 100,000-square-foot facility while continuing production at its existing Delaware location. The new jobs will represent over $6.7 million in annual payroll. The Delaware operation currently supports 41 positions and has an annual payroll of $2.1 million.
The new facility will manufacture heat exchangers that remove heat from cooling systems, helping data centers operate reliably. Wieland’s technology is designed to deliver greater cooling capacity while reducing the amount of material and refrigerant required.
The investment reflects Wieland’s continued commitment to expanding its manufacturing footprint in North America and supporting growth in key industries and the megatrends shaping them. The Delaware operation joined Wieland, a global copper and technology company, through the 2024 acquisition of Onda S.p.A. Founded in Germany in 1820, Wieland operates over 80 locations worldwide, including 44 in North America, and serves industries ranging from electronics and refrigeration to automotive, construction, and data center infrastructure.

With more than 30 years of experience in heat transfer technology, the company serves data center, commercial building, and industrial markets.

The expansion demonstrates how data center investment supports a wider network of companies across the Columbus Region. As computing capacity grows, so does demand for the equipment and technical expertise required to keep those facilities operating safely and efficiently.

Wieland’s existing Delaware operation is located at 600 London Road. The new facility will be located at 115 Innovation Court.
