Surface treatment

The treatment and finishing of surfaces of metal parts contributes to their protection and optimization. Whether semi-finisihed product or component, Wieland has a solution.

Every application has individual requirements - also with regard to the surface. We offer both standards, such as roughness or protective coating, but also special qualities or tin plating. However, our expertise also includes organoceramic thin films that meet different requirements through targeted modification with high-tech materials.

Surfaces and coatings for rolled products

We manufacture our products both bare and coated on our own systems. Also, rolled products can be delivered dry or oiled. For improved resistance to oxidation, our products are passivated as standard.

In electrical and electronic applications, contact resistance plays a crucial role. The formation of oxide layers can compromise this severely and may cause contact failure. As a rule, therefore, at least the contact zones are coated. The most common coatings are of tin or tin alloys. Our products are treated on ultra modern hot dip tinning plant. A range of tin plated variants are possible, depending on the customer’s requirements.

Further Details

We can also offer strips with full or selective silver or nickel plating. These strips you can purchase directly from us as a single source. They are finished at external partner companies.
