What matters to us

To realize our vision “Every employee goes home safe every day” we are continuously refining our global occupational safety strategy and creating safe working conditions at all our locations worldwide. Our “House of Safety” brings together the key elements of this strategy.

We have established binding guidelines, safety standards, and objectives for occupational safety and health. Our leaders ensure on-site that all legal and internal requirements are met. Through a global network, we share best practices and foster a common safety culture.

A central component of our work is the eight Golden Rules of occupational safety, which are mandatory for all employees, contractors, and visitors. These are supplemented by occupational safety training, safety dialogues, and safety inspections.

Our goal is to reduce the Lost Time Incident rate (LTI) by 90% by 2030 compared to the 2019/20 base year. With a rate of 0.4 in the 2024/25 fiscal year, we have already made significant progress. Certified management systems – including those compliant with ISO 45001 – help us ensure safe working conditions at all times.

“Golden Rules”

Our eight Golden Rules form the foundation for a safe working environment at Wieland. Compliance is mandatory for everyone – regardless of location, workplace, or position – and applies to employees, contractors, and visitors. In addition, we offer mandatory training courses to continuously strengthen safety awareness. In this way, we foster a culture in which preventive occupational safety and shared responsibility are second nature.

Safety Ambassador Award

At Wieland, we present the Safety Ambassador Award to recognize employees who go above and beyond to promote occupational safety. Nominees are those who demonstrate exemplary safety awareness or contribute innovative ideas for accident prevention.

The award strengthens our safety culture and motivates all teams to take responsibility, actively identify risks, and take preventive action, which ensures a safe working environment at all our locations worldwide.

Preventive health care and mental health

The physical and mental health of our employees is a key part of our responsibility. That is why we promote a healthy work environment, reduce health risks, and enhance the well-being of our teams. A health-focused leadership culture supports the long-term performance of our employees. Health programs and preventive measures are implemented at our locations based on specific needs.

Through the “Mental Health First Aiders” (MHFA) initiative, we are building a network that identifies mental health issues early on and promotes a healthy work environment. Occupational medical services, the promotion of exercise and fitness offerings, first-aid stations, and preventive health screenings complete our comprehensive health management and help safeguard the well-being of all employees.
